Rules & Guidelines for joining Ring

Knit 1 Blog Too Ring

Rules:

This Ring is for anyone aged 15 years and over, who has a knitting, crochet, or fiber blog which is updated regularly. This team blog is the home page of the Ring and we try to provide a list of some useful and helpful links to web and Blogger resources. The list is updated as often as possible regularly and members are welcome and encouraged to forward any useful links to the list for the benefit of the whole ring. Knit1blogtoo doesn't have a forum but we can review this at a later date.

Guidelines:

  • You must be aged at least 15 years to join.
  • This Ring is intended for knitting, crochet and fiber blogs that are updated regularly and whose main content is English. Although it was set up primarily for ‘Bloggers’ you can also join the Ring at Ringsurf if you regularly maintain a personal weblog, online diary, online journal, online travelog or photolog.
  • When you join the Ring you must place the Ring code in your template as soon as possible. If you don’t add the code I cannot add you to the Ring.
  • You will automatically be entered into a queue when you join the Ring, which I endeavour to check regularly.
  • If you have not entered the code on your site after a week then I will delete you from the queue. You will then have to resubmit your application to join the Ring. If there are problems adding the code to your site then please contact me.
  • The web address or URL you enter when you sign up with Ringsurf must be the URL where the Ring navigation code is stored. For example, if you blog about knitting on your blog (eg http://www.insert-my-blog-address.blogspot.com), then this is the blog that the code should appear on.
  • The code must be visible and stored in the main part of your blog, in the sidebar (not down the bottom of the page).
  • Adding the Ring code to your blog does not automatically qualify you to join the Ring. Once I am satisfied that you meet the requirements to join the Ring you will be added.
  • Your blog must be available for public viewing and must NOT be password protected. Joining the Ring is intended to increase traffic to your site so if you don’t want people to see your entries then don’t join the ring. If your site is password protected when I check then I will not add you to the Ring.
  • Please make sure you input your email address correctly when joining. If I am unable to contact you in the event of any problems I will remove you from the Ring/Queue.
  • The ring is checked regularly for breaks. If your site comes up with a broken or missing code, you will be moved to the queue and notified by e-mail. It is each member’s responsibility to ensure that the Ring code is placed accurately on their site so do be careful when moving things around. If your code isn't repaired or replaced within 7 days, you will be deleted from the queue.
  • Please contact me if you have any problems with the code.
  • Accepting your blog to the Ring does not mean that I endorse any products or advertisements featured in them.
  • If you have applied to join the ring and haven’t heard from me within 7 days, then please e-mail me (in case it got eaten up in cyberspace).
  • We all make mistakes so please be patient if I muck things up. I will reciprocate and offer you the same courtesy.
  • Feel free to e-mail me if you accidentally delete your account with Ringsurf and you still want to be part of the Ring. You will however have to reapply.
If you wish to leave the ring, please send me a quick e-mail. Please don’t simply delete the code – the Ring won’t run properly if links are missing or broken.

Really Important Notes:

  • Blogs with adult material or porn will not be accepted.
  • Racial hatred or flaming will not be tolerated. This is meant to be an enjoyable process.
  • Sites that advertise illegal goods or inappropriate services will not be added.
  • Business sites are not intended to be included. However I appreciate that many online businesses run blogs and journals alongside their online shop. Please e-mail me before applying to join for clarification.
If you are not sure whether or not you qualify, please feel free to e-mail me.

Thanks for all your hard work Bernie - its much appreciated. I've add the code to my blog but am unsure if I've put it correctly - I've placed it in the sidebar where all my buttons etc are. If you get a minute (crazy laugher is now heard!) can yo check I've done it right cos I'd hate to be chucked off ! Thanks.
